C H A R I T Y W O R K
I visited the Mathieson Music School in Kolkata, India, in January 2010, where I repaired 60 instruments to playing condition. This mostly consisted of re-gluing seams that had come unstuck in the high humidity. I also taught some of the children basic instrument repair. The children, many of whom have been orphaned, took to it with great enthusiasm. I found it a humbling and rewarding experience and am planning my next trip for January 2011.

Morning workshop sessions were a favourite among the children
Do you have an unused string instrument?
I am on the look-out for any instruments to take over to the school. If needed, I will restore them to playing condition before letting the children at them. There is a need of all sizes of violin, viola, cello and double bass. If you bring a old instrument to donate you will always receive a discount on any other repair work you may need. Please get in touch if you have any unwanted instruments, strings or related accessories.
